Samsung Galaxy A57 vs A37: What’s New? — Complete Comparison (2026)

Samsung Galaxy A57 vs A37

MyPitShop | February 2026 | India

Samsung just launched its latest Galaxy A series smartphones — the Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57. Both are affordably priced mid-rangers that promise flagship-level features without the flagship price tag.

But which one should you buy? And what has actually changed compared to last year’s A36 and A56?

We spent time with both phones hands-on to see how they stack up. Here is the complete breakdown of design, display, performance, cameras, battery, pricing, and everything in between.

Let us dive in.

Design: Slimmer, Premium, But Still Fingerprint Magnets

Samsung Galaxy A57: The Thinnest A-Series Ever

The Galaxy A57 is the thinnest Samsung A-series handset yet, measuring in at 6.9mm. That is not quite Samsung S25 Edge levels, but it is impressively slim for a mid-range phone.

The A57 also boasts slimmer bezels than before and is slimmer than the A37. Although they are not quite symmetrical, the bottom bezel is definitely a bit chunkier.

Samsung Galaxy A57 vs A37

Overall, the Galaxy A57 looks and feels more premium compared with earlier A-series handsets.

Samsung Galaxy A37: Same Thickness as Before

The Galaxy A37 measures 7.4mm, which is the same thickness as the previous generation A36. It is still slim, but not quite as svelte as the A57.

Build Quality: Metal vs Plastic Frame

Galaxy A57:

  • Metal frame (adds to the premium feel)
  • Gorilla Glass Victus Plus on the front and back

Galaxy A37:

  • Plastic frame (but still hardy and durable)
  • Gorilla Glass Victus Plus on the front and back

Both phones are built well, but the A57 genuinely feels more premium in hand.

Water Resistance: IP68 (Upgraded)

Both phones have been upgraded from IP67 (previous generation) to IP68 water and dust resistance. That means they can be submerged in even deeper water for even longer.

Colours: Glossy and Fingerprint-Prone

Galaxy A37 colours:

  • Awesome Charcoal
  • Awesome Gray Green (standout colour)
  • Awesome White
  • Awesome Lavender (hero model)

Galaxy A57 colours:

  • Awesome Navy (hero model)
  • Awesome Icy Blue
  • Awesome Gray
  • Awesome Lilac

Both phones have a glossy glass back, which looks premium but is a fingerprint and smudge magnet. Choose your colour carefully — on some tones, smudges are more visible.

Winner: Galaxy A57 — slimmer, metal frame, more premium feel.

Software: One UI 8.5 + 6 Years of Updates

Both phones run One UI 8.5 out of the box (based on Android 16). Samsung is offering:

  • 6 years of OS updates
  • 6 years of security patches

If you get a B2B model (for corporate users), you get an extra year of support.

Winner: Tie — both have excellent software support.

Storage: A37 Gets Downgraded (Disappointingly)

Here is a disappointing change for the A37:

Galaxy A36 (previous generation): 256GB storage as standard
Galaxy A37 (new): 128GB storage as standard

You will have to pay extra to upgrade to 256GB on the A37.

Galaxy A57: 256GB as standard, upgradable to 512GB

No microSD card support on either phone (again). But both have eSIM support.

Winner: Galaxy A57 — 256GB standard storage, no downgrade.

AI Features: Gemini, Bixby, Perplexity + Samsung AI

Both phones are packed with AI features:

  • Gemini (Google’s AI assistant)
  • Bixby (Samsung’s assistant)
  • Perplexity (AI-powered search)
  • Samsung’s own AI features

A57-Exclusive AI Features

The A57 gets two bonus AI features missing from the A37:

  1. Best Face — Removes blinking and awkward expressions from group photos
  2. Auto Trim — Automatically cuts longer videos into highlight reels for sharing

Missing Feature: Call Screening

Unfortunately, neither phone gets the excellent call screening feature introduced with the Galaxy S26 series. That feature lets AI answer spam calls and ask who is calling before you pick up.

Hopefully, Samsung will add this in a future update.

Winner: Galaxy A57 — two extra AI camera features.

Display: Super AMOLED vs Super AMOLED Plus

Galaxy A37: 6.7-inch Super AMOLED

Galaxy A57: 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus

According to Samsung, the AMOLED Plus panel on the A57 is:

  • Slightly thinner
  • Consumes slightly less power

In practice, there is no obvious visible difference between the two. Both pump out rich, vivid visuals.

Shared Display Features

Both phones have:

  • Full HD+ resolution (not as crispy as some rivals, but good enough for YouTube, Netflix, gaming)
  • 120Hz refresh rate (smooth scrolling and animations)
  • Peak brightness: Just under 2,000 nits (excellent outdoor visibility, helped by Samsung’s Vision Booster tech)
  • Limited PWM dimming (may cause eye strain for sensitive users)

Audio

Both phones have:

  • Stereo speakers (decent quality)
  • Bluetooth 5.3 (A37)
  • Bluetooth 6.1 (A57)

Winner: Tie — displays are nearly identical in real-world use.

Performance: Exynos 1680 vs Exynos 1480

Galaxy A57: Exynos 1680 (New)

The A57 gets Samsung’s fresh Exynos 1680 chipset, which offers a slight boost to CPU and GPU performance versus the previous A56.

This should be capable of playing Wuthering Waves on higher graphics settings.

Galaxy A37: Exynos 1480 (Hand-Me-Down)

The A37 gets the Exynos 1480, which was previously used in 2024’s Galaxy A55.

The previous generation A36 was not particularly great for gaming, but the Exynos 1480 brings a big GPU boost. It should be capable of handling Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves, though you will need to stick to lower graphics settings.

RAM: LPDDR5X (Big Upgrade for A37)

Both phones use LPDDR5X RAM, which is a big boost for the A37 (the A36 used slower DDR4 RAM).

Galaxy A37:

  • Base model: 6GB RAM
  • Upgrade: 8GB RAM (recommended for gaming)

Galaxy A57:

  • Base model: 8GB RAM
  • Upgrade: 12GB RAM

Cooling: Larger Vapor Chamber on A57

Galaxy A57: 13% larger vapor chamber than the A56 (better sustained gaming performance)
Galaxy A37: Same-sized vapor chamber as the A36

Despite the A57 being thinner, it has better cooling tech. This should help with sustained gaming sessions (1–2 hours).

Real-World Performance Test

In the “camera shutter test” (rapid-fire photo taking), the A57 handled it smoothly, while the A37 experienced noticeable processing lag.

Winner: Galaxy A57 — faster chipset, better cooling, more RAM options.

Connectivity

Galaxy A57: Wi-Fi 6E
Galaxy A37: Wi-Fi 6

Both have 5G support.

Winner: Galaxy A57 — Wi-Fi 6E is faster and more future-proof.

Battery: Same as Before (5,000 mAh, 45W Charging)

Both phones have:

  • 5,000 mAh battery
  • 45W wired charging
  • No wireless charging (again)

The lack of wireless charging is particularly disappointing for the Galaxy A57, especially since even the iPhone 17e has wireless charging this generation.

Winner: Tie — identical battery specs on both.

Cameras: Same Triple Lens Setup, Bigger Sensor on A37

Rear Cameras

Galaxy A57:

  • 50MP main camera
  • 12MP ultrawide camera
  • 5MP macro camera
Samsung Galaxy A57 vs A37

Galaxy A37:

  • 50MP main camera (now uses the same larger sensor as the A57 — a big upgrade)
  • 8MP ultrawide camera (downgraded from the A57)
  • 5MP macro camera

No telephoto lens on either phone. If you want a mid-range phone with a telephoto lens, check out the Nothing Phone 4a or Nothing Phone 4a Pro.

AI Camera Improvements

Thanks to the upgraded NPUs on both phones, you get improved image processing:

  • Better HDR photo capture
  • Improved portrait mode with better background separation (A37 has supposedly caught up to the A57 here)

Selfie Camera

Both phones have a 12MP selfie camera (same as the previous generation).

Winner: Tie — cameras are nearly identical, though the A57 has a better ultrawide lens.

Pricing: A37 Stays the Same, A57 Gets a Price Hike

UK Pricing

Galaxy A37:

  • £399 (same price as the A36)
  • But you only get 128GB storage now (down from 256GB)
  • To somewhat make up for it, you get faster LPDDR5X RAM, an upgraded chipset, and other small improvements

Galaxy A57:

  • £529 (up from £499 for the A56)
  • 256GB storage as standard

Expected India Pricing (Approximate)

Galaxy A37: ₹35,000–₹38,000
Galaxy A57: ₹45,000–₹48,000

Both phones are available for pre-order now.

Samsung Galaxy A57 vs A37: Which Should You Buy?

Buy the Galaxy A57 if:

  • You want the slimmest, most premium-feeling A-series phone
  • You prioritise better gaming performance and sustained performance (larger vapour chamber)
  • You want 256GB storage as standard (no storage downgrade)
  • You want Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 6.1 for future-proofing
  • You want the Best Face and Auto Trim AI features
  • You can afford the £529 / ₹45,000+ price

Buy the Galaxy A37 if:

  • You want the cheapest A-series phone with solid performance
  • You are okay with 128GB storage (or willing to pay extra for 256GB)
  • You do not need cutting-edge gaming performance (but still want decent performance)
  • You want to save £130 / ₹10,000 compared to the A57
  • You are fine with a plastic frame instead of metal

Our Verdict: The A57 Is Worth the Extra £130 If You Can Afford It

The Galaxy A57 is the better phone — slimmer, more premium, faster, with better cooling and more storage. The £130 / ₹10,000 price difference is justified by the upgrades.

But the Galaxy A37 is still a genuinely solid mid-range phone, especially if your budget is tight. The Exynos 1480 chipset is a big upgrade over the A36, and the improved camera sensor is a welcome addition.

Overall Rating:

  • Galaxy A57: 8.5/10
  • Galaxy A37: 8/10

Both are excellent mid-range phones. Choose based on your budget and priorities.
